The Green Mountain State

There are very few places in the world that are truly as beautiful as their pictures are, and Vermont is one of them. When you visit our state, you’ll be amazed to learn that such a picturesque landscape is home to some of the most sophisticated and responsible businesses in the world. The people of Vermont are famous for their independent spirits, including the growing number of organic farmers, entrepreneurs, melee of artists and writers, and alternative energy producers.

Vermont is consistently ranked as among the safest and healthiest places in the country and is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Gorgeous Lake Champlain stretches for 112 miles and it is the sixth largest fresh water lake in the country. Skiing or snowboarding at Sugarbush, Stowe and Smuggler’s Notch, and hiking or mountain biking are just a few of the ways Vermonters enjoy the outdoors.

For those interested in night life, the music and theater scene in Vermont is vibrant year round. Reggae, blue-grass, rock and alternative music venues abound as well as community, professional and touring theater productions. We’re also within driving distance to several exciting metropolitan cities. New York City is less than five hours, Boston less than three and Montreal is only 90 miles away from our Essex campus, and a little further from Montpelier.
